Professor Dr. Rahimi is a leading authority in Islamic banking, finance, and Shariah governance, with a career spanning over three decades in academia, research, and advisory roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Banking from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), a Master’s in Islamic Economics from the University of Yarmouk, Jordan, and a Bachelor’s in Shariah from the University of Malaya.
Throughout his career, Professor Dr. Rahimi has held key leadership positions, including serving as Professor and Dean at the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS) UiTM, as well as Director of the Centre for Islamic Thought and Understanding (CITU). His expertise in Islamic finance and governance has led to his appointment as a Registered Shariah Adviser with the Securities Commission of Malaysia, in addition to serving as a Shariah Adviser to various financial institutions including Alliance Islamic Bank, AIA Public Takaful, and Phillip Capital Sdn Bhd. He has also served as Chairman of the Shariah Committee for Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad, demonstrating his depth of knowledge in regulatory compliance and Islamic financial structuring.
